Shri P N Panikkar’s death anniversary is commemorated as Reading Day as he was the pioneer of the library movement in Keralam. A devotional song by the students of Class VII C and D, a national pledge led by Anirudh S Hegde and a reflective thought for the day by Mika Mariam Jacob marked the start of the celebration. The importance of literature in daily life was displayed by a special performance featuring well-known literary characters and authors. A highlight of the Reading Day was the release of the school annual Desalite Fragrance by the chief guest Dr Harikumar S Changampuzha. The first copy was presented to principal Dr Roy. Dr Harikumar spoke on the profound impact of reading, and inaugurated the Reading Day with a coordinated one-minute silent reading session. The session concluded with the school anthem, and a vote of thanks by student hosts Susanna and Aiswarya.
