SCHOOL PARLIAMENT

SFS PUBLIC SCHOOL AND JUNIOR COLLEGE

The school parliament provides a semblance of democracy to the school community. Before the end of the first month after reopening, students contest seats for the role of Head Boy, Vice Head Boy, Head Girl and Vice Head Girl. These are positions reserved for students of Class XI and IX respectively. Those who emerge successful hold office for a year after taking pledge to serve the school in their various capacities.

The annual investiture ceremony sees the winners of the election receive sashes and badges, displaying their official capacity. During the ceremony, badges are pinned on the uniform of class beadles and various club leaders. Debates and meetings are organized by the leaders to provide students with the opportunity to make public appearances and deliver speeches. It provides an inkling into the nitty-gritty of a working democracy.
