Co-curricular Activities

At SFS Public School, we believe in nurturing the diverse talents and interests of our students. Our various clubs offer a platform for students to explore their passions, develop new skills, and collaborate with peers. From arts and culture to science and technology, each club is designed to enrich the student experience, foster creativity, and build leadership qualities. These clubs are an integral part of our holistic education approach, ensuring that students grow both inside and outside the classroom.

Arts Club

The primary goal of the Arts Club is to discover and cultivate the innate artistic talents of our learners. By providing expert guidance and encouragement, our classes empower children to unlock their creative potential and master various art forms, including recycling and fine arts. Through hands-on experience and experimentation, students learn to transform discarded materials into unique works of art, fostering innovation, sustainability, and self-expression. The club’s focus is on nurturing artistic skills, promoting creativity, and encouraging sustainable practices.

Commerce Club

The objective of commerce Club is to expose students to practical challenges in business scenario. Club aims at building the self-confidence increasing business knowledge among students. We aim to explore students to business scenario, expert’s and opportunities. And do activities like industrial visit, quiz and seminars.

Commerce Club Activities

  • Seminar on subject enrichment by experts who will be giving importance to subject commerce its scope and benefits. Along with this we will be displaying charts about the subject, business and how it gets started i.e. from barter system to today’s business world.
  • Industrial visit to help students get real life experience about industries.

Dance Club

Dance is a beautiful art form that involves rhythm and music. It is a way to convey emotions, tell stories get connected with each other. The aim of the dance club is to familiarize students with various dance forms from different regions.

Activities of this club include,

  • Presentation of Kerala Art forms (Mohiniyattam, Ottamthullal, Bharathanatyam, Keralanadanam, Padayani, Theyyam, Chakyar Koothu etc) to acquaint the students with art forms that are prevalent in India
  • Dance Performance – Presenting a dance piece to the students
  • Choreography – Creating and directing a dance piece with the help of the teacher and presenting it
  • Acquainting students with dance through different types of music (classical, semi-classical, western, contemporary, etc.)

Eco Club

The Eco Club focuses on the holistic development of children. One of the club’s primary goals is to encourage children to live in harmony with nature and maintain ecological balance.

It helps to create,

  • Environmental Awareness: Educating students about environmental issues and the importance of sustainability.
  • Eco-Friendly Practices: Promoting and implementing practices that reduce waste, conserve resources, and minimize the school’s ecological footprint.
  • Community Involvement: Encouraging students to participate in local environmental initiatives and collaborate with community organizations.

Activities Conducted:

  • Planting trees inside and outside the school campus.
  • Distributing seed kits.
  • Conducting cleanliness drives.
  • Proper waste recycling.

Friends of Fransalians

The club `Friends of Fransalians’ is formulated in order to introduce the Great saint St Francis de Sales. Through this club we are planning to inculcate the values and life of St Francis de Sales to children through some selected activities like writeups, story narration, poster making etc. Children practise and exhibit the fine qualities like compassion, love, understanding etc. and become the better versions of themselves.

Health And Sports Club

The aim of the Health and Sports Club is to promote physical fitness, healthy living, and sportsmanship among students. It seeks to encourage a balanced lifestyle through regular exercise, active participation in sports, and comprehensive health education. The club aims to instil lifelong habits of wellness and teamwork, enhancing both physical and mental well-being.

Activities include,

  • Make students aware of simple rules of various games.
  • Also give them an idea about first aid and common first aids that students should know in their daily life
  • Self-defence techniques.
  • Simple indoor exercises to keep students active and healthy.

The Heritage Club

The Heritage Club is a group dedicated to preserving and celebrating cultural heritage, traditions, and historical significance. Through a variety of activities, events, and projects, we aim to restoring and maintaining historical sites and landmarks and promoting cultural events, festivals, and exhibitions.

Home Science Club

The aim of teaching home science in school is to equip students with practical skills and knowledge that can enhance their personal, family, and community life. Here are some key objectives:

  • Life Skills Development: Teach essential skills like cooking, nutrition, budgeting, and home management.
  • Health and Nutrition: Promote understanding of balanced diets, hygiene, and healthy living practices.
  • Personal Development: Foster self-reliance, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Family and Community: Strengthen understanding of family dynamics, relationships, and community responsibilities.

IT Club

The IT Club at our school offers students a dynamic platform to explore the ever-evolving world of technology. Our activities include hands-on workshops on software installations, informative videos followed by quizzes, and tech talks by senior students. Club members also engage in debates and discussions about current tech trends and share insights about their favourite gadgets, fostering a collaborative and engaging learning environment. Through these diverse activities, the IT Club prepares students for future success in the tech-driven world.

Literary Club

Literary club aims to promote a love for reading, improve critical thinking and develop analytical skills through discussions and debates. It enhances writing skills: Provide opportunities for members to share their writing and receive feedback, foster a sense of community and create a welcoming space for book lovers to connect and share ideas. It makes the members enjoy the company of fellow book enthusiasts and have a great time discussing and exploring literature!

Book discussions, Book reviews, Writing workshops, Poetry readings, Debates and Literary games like “Literary Charades” or “Book Title Scavenger Hunt”.

Music Club

A music club activity is a great way for students to come together and share their love of music. In a music club, students can participate in various activities such as jam sessions, songwriting workshops, and activities in Indian Music and Western Music.This allows students to showcase their musical talents and improve their skills in a supportive and creative environment.Music clubs also provide opportunities for students to explore different genres of music and expand their musical knowledge.

Nallapaadam Club

Malayala Manorama’s social responsibility project ‘Nallapaadam’ is a remarkable student movement. It’s a project to learn about life and the world beyond the classroom and prepare a new generation of community service enthusiasts.

The aim of Nallapaadam is to implement activities that touch the society and fulfill the good. A lot of greenery, a lot of reading, a lot of smiles is the idea of ​​’Nallapaadam’ this year. We bring smile on the face of hundreds of people every year through our humanitarian endeavours.

Activity Plan: Agricultural, Vayana Kalari, Buoyancy, various social awareness programmes, medical camp, etc

Philately and Numismatic Club

Philately and Numismatic club is a space for students to explore the world of stamps (philately) and coins (numismatics), thereby enabling them to learn and share the rich history and art behind these collectibles.

The purpose of this club is to foster a love for philately and numismatics among students, encouraging them to appreciate the cultural, historical, and artistic significance of stamps and coins.

  • To find out the significance of people and places on stamps and make a presentation about it.
  • Familiarising students with different currencies used in different countries.
  • creating chart presentation based on the currencies of different countries.

Road and Safety Club

The goal of Road and Safety club is to create awareness in reducing traffic accidents and to ensure road safety. This program equips children with awareness and skills to navigate roads safely. It uses a fun and engaging approach that incorporates age- appropriate activities, interactive videos on how to avoid accidents.

Our aim is to provide road and safety information for students and to encourage them to obey traffic rules and make the roads safer for everyone.

Science Club

Science club activities at school provide students with hands-on experiences to explore various scientific concepts and foster a love for discovery. Members engage in experiments and participate in science fairs.

The club also organizes activities offering real-world applications of classroom learning. These activities promote teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, making science both educational and enjoyable.

Activities include,

  • Holding science exhibition and fair.
  • Arranging visit to places of scientific interest.

Yuva Tourism Club

The vision of Yuva tourism club is to nurture and develop young ambassadors of Indian tourism who would become aware of tourism possibilities in India, appreciate our rich cultural heritage and develop an interest and passion for tourism.

Activities of the club includes, to educate learners regarding the rich natural and cultural travel heritage present in our villages, towns, cities and states.

Activities of the club will integrate with activities of other clubs and encourage a travel to locations during off-peak periods as part of a school group.

Competitions like essay writing, logo designing, quiz drawing, painting, poster making, acting and debating etc. will be held under topics involving tourism.
