INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATIONS

The international yoga day was celebrated at SFS Public School on 21 June 2025, to fall in line with its observance worldwide. The program encouraged students to draw benefits of yoga practice in daily life. Students and teachers vowed to incorporate yogic practices in their day-to-day life. A healthier lifestyle incorporating yogic practices is the ideal for all students.

Students from various classes enthusiastically gathered at the auditorium to watch yoga master Mathew Joseph as he expatiated on its multifarious aspects and benefits.

Joshua Joseph Anoop of Class VIII and Jainy Jacob of Class V were declared best yoga students by school general coordinator Jaimol John.

Reading Day Celebration

അക്ഷരപ്പച്ച‘ Reading Celebration at SFS Public School

 

In connection with National Reading Day, SFS Public School organized a vibrant reading celebration titled ‘അക്ഷരപ്പച്ച‘. Students contributed books they had read at home, which were collected by Nallapaadam volunteers and showcased in a special exhibition.

 

The exhibition was inaugurated by our Vice Principal, Fr Kelvin Thomas, with inspiring messages delivered by Principal Dr Roy P.K. and General Coordinator Mrs. Jaimol John. To encourage the reading habit among students, dedicated reading spots were set up across the campus, featuring newspapers, magazines, and literary publications.

 

The initiative was successfully led by School Manager Rev Dr Manu K.V., Principal Dr Roy P.K., Vice Principal Fr Kelvin Thomas, and Administrator Fr Binod Puthanpurakkal.

BENVENUTO BAMBINI – PRE-KG & LKG Opening Ceremony  2025-26

The much-awaited PRE-KG and LKG Opening Ceremony was held on 14th June 2025 with great enthusiasm. The programme was inaugurated by Adv. Phijo Joseph, a distinguished High Court lawyer and motivational speaker, whose inspiring words set the tone for a promising academic journey.

The Presidential Address was delivered by our esteemed School Manager, Dr. Manu K. V., who emphasized the importance of early childhood education and holistic development.

Our principal, Dr. Roy PK, addressed the parents and gave a brief introduction about the guidelines of the school.

The highlight of the event was the delightful performances by our UKG children, whose talent and energy brought joy and colour to the occasion.

It was a memorable start to the new academic year, filled with excitement, hope, and celebration.

LAUREATE 2025: Celebrating Excellence at SFS

 

SFS School proudly hosted LAUREATE 2025, a grand celebration of academic excellence and new beginnings. This year’s results were outstanding, with 364 students from Grades X and XII achieving exceptional performance in the public examinations—a 100% success rate, with every student passing with distinction. The celebration also marked the ceremonial induction of nearly 250 new Grade XI students, warmly welcomed into the SFS family. The event began with the arrival of Chief Guest Prof. Dr. T. C. Thankachan, Principal of St Thomas College of Teacher Education, Pala, and featured a stirring welcome address by student Sineeja Sibu. The formal inauguration was conducted by Dr. Thankachan, followed by a presidential address by Rev. Dr. Manu KV, the newly appointed School Manager, who emphasized the importance of perseverance and academic integrity.

 

 

The award ceremony honoured the year’s top achievers—Grade XII subject toppers were felicitated by Rev. Dr. Manu, Grade X toppers by Rev. Fr. Kelvin Thomas, and A1 achievers by Dr. Roy PK (Grade XII) and Rev. Fr. Binod Puthanpurakkal (Grade X). A cultural highlight of the program was a vibrant dance performance by Punyaja B Pillai and her team, adding colour and energy to the event. The ceremony concluded on an inspiring note with a vote of thanks by Anjaly Binu, who secured a remarkable 99% aggregate and spoke warmly about her journey at SFS. LAUREATE 2025 stood as a proud testament to hard work, excellence, and the school’s unwavering commitment to nurturing future leaders.

World Environment Day

SFS School Students cast seeds and reap results to celebrate World Environment Day

 

 In the context of the world environment day, SFS students set rolling its Nallapaadam projects for the academic year 2025-2026. The ‘Beat Plastic Pollution Campaign’ and the Nallapaadam ‘Greening Campaign’ were set in motion by Shri Ajay Chandran Nair, member of the Peroor Thuruthipadam local committee.

 

A core project of the Nallapadam volunteers at SFS School is the Nallidangal. It was visited by Shri Ajay Chandran Nair and by Shri Abhilash Chandran, a member of the Peroor Thuruthipadam local committee. They planted seedlings and offered useful tips to the students. During the previous year, SFS Nallapadam volunteers had the good fortune to participate in the paddy cultivation at Peroor Thuruthipadam. The rice prepared out of this paddy crop was distributed to the students by the two campaigners cited above.

Academic Year Reopens with a Heartfelt Farewell and a Warm Welcome

The new academic year began on a memorable note as our institution reopened on 2 June 2025. The day was marked by a special gathering where we bid a fond farewell to our beloved manager, Fr. Jose Parappilil, whose dedicated service, guidance, and warmth have been a source of inspiration for both staff and students.

 

We also had the honor of welcoming our new manager, Dr. Manu K.V., whose experience and vision promise to lead our institution to new heights. The event was a blend of gratitude and anticipation, as we cherished the past and looked forward to the future with renewed enthusiasm.

SFS Students visit Ashraya Charitable Trust, Gandhinagar

 

Advent is the time when Angels visit the earth to proclaim the glories of the new-born Jesus. It’s the period when goodwill suffuses communities with forgiveness and peace.

That is why SFS students made a visit to the Ashraya Charitable Trust at Gandhinagar to share their goodwill and material goods with the inmates of the institution. The students had gathered some materials of daily use and a few dialysis kits, and handed them over to Sr Slomo, the Trust manager.

Fr Binod Puthanpurakkal gave the Xmas message. The students used the opportunity to visit the volunteer workers and inmates of the Trust and to share their camaraderie.

Farming Fest

SFS students join hands in farming fest

The Nallpaadam workers at SFS Public School had a first-hand experience of farming operations when they joined hands with the first green army of Kerala, namely, the Pampakuda Agro Service workers, and the agricultural farmers of Peroor at the Thuruthi paadam fields. The students got the opportunity to learn first-hand the basic lessons of paddy cultivation under the guidance of Shri Ajaychandran Nair, a leading farmer from the region.

Fr Jose Parappillil, school manager, Dr P.K. Roy, school Principal, Fr Kelvin Olikkunnel, vice principal and Fr Binod Puthanpurackal, school administrator, were present to encourage the students.

Aavolam Vayana

A LIBRARY FOR COMRADES

 

The Nallapadam team at SFS School has been carrying out a reading-related project entitled “Aavolam Vaayana” [reading to one’s heart’s content]. As part of this promotional effort, reading corners have been set up in public places and in convenient nooks and classrooms at SFS School.

 

Taking the project to its logical conclusion, the Nallapadam workers considered creating a library for comrades. The aim is to arrange a small library at home in order to attract government school students to the magical world of books and reading. Ms Ganga C.S., a Grade IX student of Pampady Technical High School, is chosen to head the campaign.

 

A good number of books collected by SFS School students was handed over to Ms Ganga by SFS Principal Dr Roy P.K. Present on the occasion were Pampady Technical High School Superintendent in charge Shri Venugopal, academic in charge Shri Ravindra Varma, student counselor Smt Ranimol Thomas, SFS Vice Principal Fr Kelvin Olikkunnel, and School Administrator Fr Binod Puthanpurackal.

 

Additionally, SFS School Manager Fr Jose Parappillil also attended the function.
